Overview

Join us for another of our popular short breaks to Yorkshire.

This time we are based at the wonderful DoubleTree by Hilton Harrogate Majestic Hotel & Spa in Harrogate on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis.

Built in 1889, this hotel sits on eight acres of landscaped gardens in the heart of Harrogate. Royal Hall and Harrogate Convention Centre are a five-minute walk away, and is half a mile from Betty’s CafÊ. The spa features six beauty treatment rooms, a steam room, sauna, and indoor pool. Every stay starts with a signature warm chocolate chip cookie.

Day 1 :

Travel to the DoubleTree by Hilton Harrogate Majestic Hotel & Spa.

  • 7.30am – Coach departs Taverham
  • Local pickups en route
  • 3.00pm – Arrive at Harrogate and check in to Hotel
  • (Time TBC) – Dinner at the hotel

Dinner
Day 2 :

Today we the marvellous city of York, a city with Roman roots and a Viking past, where ancient walls surround contemporary independent shops and vibrant eateries. The city is built on 2000 years of incredible history and has more attractions per square mile than anywhere else in the UK. Our guide will meet the coach in York and take us on a gentle walking tour of the city. Please be aware that there will be steps and the walking tour will last around 1 – 2 hours.

  • 12.00 noon (approx) – free time in York

This morning we head to Skipton. Included in this day is a one-hour canal trip along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, a journey on the Embsay and Bolton Steam Railway and some free time in Skipton.

Today we spend at leisure in Harrogate. Harrogate is a Victorian spa town. Bettys Tea Rooms, the Valley Gardens, some fantastic shopping centres and the pump room offer a great day for everyone.

Day 5 :

Departing from the hotel after breakfast, we make a stop in Whitby on the way home around lunchtime.
