Worcester and Severn Valley Railway

Overview

The Severn Valley offers a fantastic location for this “new for 2026” tour. This 4 night stay is based at the Stourport Manor Hotel. A refurbished country house, the hotel is set in 23 acres of beautiful grounds. The hotel offers a spacious lounge and bar and a brasserie restaurant, an indoor pool and spa. Rooms are tastefully decorated and include tea and coffee making facilities, TV and ensuite bathroom.

Our itinerary includes :

• Time at leisure in Worcester – a beautiful Cathedral and University City with a fascinating history, located in the heart of the West Midlands on the banks of the River Severn, pocketed with beautiful shops, parks, museums and not forgetting the breath-taking Cathedral.
• A trip on the Severn Valley Railway – we journey by heritage train from Kidderminster to Bridgenorth and you’ll thunder through the picturesque Severn Valley. On arrival into Bridgenorth, you will have some free time before our leisurely drive back to the hotel.
• Time at leisure in Stourport-on-Severn – which offers independent shops, cafes, restaurants and water-based activities all within a short walking distance. This town has a fantastic atmosphere. With its Georgian Canal Basins, it was once a busy inland port, which grew up around the point where the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal joins the River Severn.
