Overview
This “new for 2026” tour is based at the Crown Hotel, Harrogate, an elegant Victorian 3-star hotel that enjoys a relaxed, laid-back central location, a 5 minute walk from the famous Bettys Tea rooms, and across the road from the beautiful Valley Gardens and overlooking the Montpellier Gardens. The tastefully-decorated rooms with modern amenities include tea and coffee-making facilities. The hotel also has an onsite bar and restaurant.
Our itinerary includes :
- A visit to Castle Howard – one of England’s finest historic houses, set in a thousand acres of sweeping parkland dotted with statues, temples, lakes and fountains. Inside this world-renowned castle you’ll find collections gathered by succeeding generations of the Howard family. Built over 300 years ago, today it still remains a family home.
- A visit to RHS Harlow Carr – a showcase of horticultural excellence. As you wander through the tranquil surroundings of this stunning 60-acre garden it’ll inspire ideas for your own borders, or simply relax with on a leisurely stroll and discover your own inspiration along the dramatic main borders where RHS experts have chosen contemporary planting to suit the challenging growing conditions. The beautiful Kitchen Garden, where raised beds, fruit trees and a forager’s garden have been laid out with thoughtful design and ornamental aspects. Saunter along the lush Streamside Garden, unearth hidden treasures in the Woodland and take glorious deep breaths in the magical Scented Garden, with its focus on roses.

- A visit to Harewood House. At Harewood you’ll find nationally significant gardens, astounding collections of paintings, furniture and ceramics, over 140 acres for walks and play, and an ever-changing programme of exhibitions, events and activities.
