Overview

The Battle Proms Concerts are the longest running picnic proms series in the UK, attracting around 40,000 visitors per year since the first concert in 1997. These Summer spectaculars feature music, a Spitfire air display, parachutes, cannons and cavalry, and a fireworks finale,!

The Battle Proms at Burghley is held on an impressive elevated parkland position overlooking the grand Elizabethan architecture of Burghley House – the perfect setting for an afternoon of sublime music and dramatic displays. Burghley was built for Sir William Cecil, Lord High Treasurer to Queen Elizabeth I, between 1558 and 1587. It has featured in blockbusters such as The Da Vinci Code and Pride and Prejudice and more recently enjoyed the interest of Julian Fellowes as part of his ‘Great Houses’ series.

NB – This is an outdoor picnic event. Please visit the event Frequently-Asked Questions page via the tab above for full details of what you can and can’t bring! The concert will go ahead in inclement weather. However, in certain conditions, air displays will unfortunately not be possible due to safety reasons.
