KitzbΓΌhel is always in season β but in summer and autumn, the “Gamsstadt” reveals its most diverse side. Surrounded by alpine meadows, tranquil lakes, and scenic peaks, the atmosphere both energizes and calms. Whether itβs hiking, a trip to Lake Schwarzsee, or enjoying regional cuisine β KitzbΓΌhel offers space for genuine experiences.
Innsbruck has many different facets. It is a university town, a sports destination and a city of culture in one. Over 150,000 people call this city home. And love this place that is so close to the mountains yet still has everything you expect of urban life. The almost 30,000 students at the University of Innsbruck also appreciate this winning combination and the city’s more lively side is thanks to them.
The Zillertal Railway or Zillertalbahn is a 760 mm (2 ft 5+15β16 in) gauge independent railway running along the valley of the river Ziller (Zillertal) in Tyrol, Austria. The 32 kilometres (20 mile) line starts in Jenbach and terminates in Mayrhofen.
Since 1889, the Achensee steam cog railway has been puffing its way up the mountain from Jenbach in the Inntal Valley to Lake Achensee, covering nearly seven kilometres and climbing 440 metres in altitude. This historic railway is the oldest of its kind in Europe. Hop aboard this vintage train and travel back in time as you enjoy the breath-taking scenery and woodlands on the way from the Inntal Valley to Lake Achensee, Tirolβs largest lake. The journey ends at Seespitz in Maurach.
Please note :
All rooms at the Fischerwirt have walk-in showers (no baths avalable)
We have secured a very limited number of single rooms at no supplement to the double/twin room price. It should be noted that these have no balcony and face the street.

Dol I need Travel Insurance for this trip?
Yes β travel insurance is strongly recommended for this trip. IC Travel does not provide travel insurance and it is each travellers own responsibility to have suitable cover in place before departure
Will I need to register my details into the EU Entry/Exit system (EES) and will I need an Electronic Visa Waiver (ETIAS) for my trip into the EU?
ESS and ETIAS Requirements*
The European Union's (EU) Entry/Exit System (EES) (which replaces passport stamping for this territory) will be in operation for this trip. When travelling* into and out of the Schengen area you will need to:
have your fingerprints and your photo taken
answer the Schengen Border Code questions
If you enter the Schengen area through the Port of Dover, Eurotunnel at Folkestone or St Pancras International, this information will be taken at the French border post in the UK, before boarding your ferry or train.
This is usually an automated process using self-service kiosks.
You may also need to provide either your fingerprint or have your photo taken when you leave the Schengen area.
The EU ETIAS visa waiver scheme is currently scheduled to launch in 2027. If it has launched before your departure date, all travellers* will need to have applied online and have the 3-year ETIAS visa waiver entitlement in place.
*travellers with UK-issued passports - EU visa and entry requirements may differ for travellers with passports issued by other countries. It is each travellers responsibility to ensure that the correct procedures have been followed.
