Overview

Based on the classic 1990 film of the same name, starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, the musical adaptation of Pretty Woman transferred from Broadway to London’s Savoy Theatre from July 2021.

Pretty Woman tells the story of Vivian Ward who is hired by a rich businessman called Edward Lewis to escort him to a number of events during his stay in the city. Through spending time together, their relationship develops as they get to know each other better. The movie went on to become the highest-grossing romantic comedy in the US ever, and its soundtrack “Oh, Pretty Woman”, as performed by Roy Orbison became a hit.

Pretty Woman: The Musical features direction and choreography by two-time Tony Award® winner Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots, Legally Blonde, Hairspray), an original “blazing rock score” (Daily Mail) by Grammy® winner Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance (Summer of ’69, Heaven) and a book by the movie’s legendary director Garry Marshall and screenwriter J.F. Lawton.

Cast in the London production of Pretty Woman: The Musical are renowned West End names Aimie Atkinson (Six, In The Heights) who is “magnetic and brings power and depth” (Evening Standard) to the role of Vivian Ward, and Danny Mac (White Christmas, Sunset Boulevard) who “plays businessman Edward Lewis brilliantly” (The Sun).
