Come with IC Travel on our short break to Eastbourne & Sussex!

The Imperial Hotel is just 2 minutes’ walk from the seafront in Eastbourne and offers traditional rooms. This Victorian seaside hotel features its own bar and restaurant.

The spacious rooms at Imperial Hotel have a flat-screen TV and come with tea and coffee making facilities. There is an en suite bathroom, free WiFi is available in public areas. You can relax in a shared lounge area and the restaurant offers homecooked cuisine.

The centre of Eastbourne and its railway station can be reached in just 10 minutes by foot.

Our short break will include time in Eastbourne, a trip to Battle, site of the famous 1066 Battle of Hastings, Hever Castle, childhood home of Anne Boleyn a visit to Borde Hill Garden and a trip on the vintage Bluebell Railway.

1066 Battlefield

Today peaceful with wild flowers and birdsong, this evocative landscape once played host to thousands of men, fighting for the future of king and country.

Explore the battlefield and picture it full of life (and death) on the day that England’s history changed forever.

The Anglo-Saxons held the ridge – now under the abbey buildings – whilst the Norman invaders attacked. Follow the full course of the battle with our audio guide, and special children’s version. See the impressive new wood carved sculpture trail. During wet weather, a shorter route along the terrace provides views out over the battlefield landscape and allows visitors to listen to the audio tour from a more comfortable vantage point.
